background:
I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History with a minor in Design from the University of Arizona. After a trip to Europe my freshman year of college, I realized I also had a love for fine art & architecture. At this point, I decided to change my major, as well as spend time abroad in Paris to emphasize my studies in art & architecture. I feel these “arts” are very influential on interior design and getting a degree in Art History has given me a border perspective on design.
Being in the design business since 1987, I have experienced all aspects of the industry. In the early part of my career, I worked for a high-end residential & commercial firm in Los Angeles, California.
I eventually ventured further south to Orange County & San Diego, changing my design emphasis to the world of model homes. I worked for several award winning national builders designing model homes, sales offices & recreational centers.
After moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2005, I had the privilege of working for a travel destination company designing their properties around the world.
design philosophy:
Every project is different, but I approach all of them in a similar manner. I believe in classic timeless design. I treat each home as a “Blanc Canvas” keeping backgrounds neutral, then building color & texture as accents. This gives the room more versatility & the ability to make modifications more easily, so that clients can love their interiors today and for years to come.
